Google Cloud Translation

Use this dialog to configure Google Cloud Translation.

Account

Google Cloud Translation is a free service of up to 500 000 characters per month. If you use more, you have to pay. Even if you use only a little, you have to get your own personal account. Enter your key into the API Key field. The key has to have access rights to use Cloud Translation API. Click the Test account button to perform a test that makes sure that your account works correctly.

If you don't have an existing account or want to make a new account check, I don't have an account or create a new one checkbox. When checked, the dialog will show an extra button:

  1. Click the Get account button to go to the web page that lets you subscribe to an account.
  2. Go to Google Cloud Platform dashboard.
  3. Create a new project.
  4. In APIs click Go to APIs overview.
  5. Click ENABLE APIS AND SERVICES.
  6. In the Search field type Translation.
  7. Select Cloud Translation API.
  8. Go to Credentials and click CREATE CREDENTIALS.
  9. Click the link in the key name.
  10. Click Enable. If you are going to use this key only with the Translation API, add a restriction and click Save.
  11. Click SHOW KEY to view the key. Write down or copy your API key.
  12. Enter or paste the key to the corresponding edit field in this dialog.
