Term Section |
Use this dialog to edit a language section of a termbase term entry. Each language section has properties. Some are required, and some are optional.
Following properties are required.
Term value specifies the term value in this language. Enter a value that specifies the term. For example, if the term is "Cancel", and that is used in cancel buttons, and you are editing a German-language section, enter "Abbrechen".
Language specifies the language of this language section. Select a value from the list.
Following properties are optional. You can leave them empty or enter a value.
Geographical usage is a string that is used to give information about the geographical usage of the term, such as where the term is used. Enter this if the term is specific to a region.
Term type is a string that gives information about the term type. Select a value from a list or enter your own value.
Term location is a string that gives information about the location of the term. It is, for example, a user interface item where the term is used. For example, "Cancel" would have a Push button. Select a value from a list or enter your own value.
Part of speech is a string that specifies the part of speech (Wikipedia) of the term. Select a value from a list or enter your own value.
Grammatical gender is a string that specifies the grammatical gender of the term, if any. Select a value from a list or enter your own value.
Description is a string that can contain any text. Use it to add a language-specific description for the term.
Whenever there is a combo box that contains specific values (e.g., term type), it is recommended to use them instead of typing your own value. By using the predefined value, you ensure that you will use a standard property value. Such data can be exported and imported into other term formats without information loss.
